Terms & Conditions

A legal disclaimer

The following Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of and booking with 20 Downtown (operated by Mumbai Maven). By submitting a security deposit or otherwise confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any provision, please do not proceed with your booking or use of our services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 20 Downtown and Mumbai Maven disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our venue or services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 20 Downtown, Mumbai Maven, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your negligence, or any act or omission by you or your guests.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.

Effective date: May 25, 2025

1. Booking and payment

  • A 50% refundable, interest-free security deposit is required to confirm your booking.

  • The security deposit will be applied to your final bill.

  • The remaining balance must be paid at least 48 hours before your event.

  • For credit-card payments, applicable processing taxes will apply.

2. Cancellation and refund

  • If you cancel at least 7 days before the event, a flat fee of ₹5,000 will be withheld; the rest of your security deposit will be refunded.

  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable.

  • You may reschedule your event date (subject to availability) within six months of your original booking.

3. Minimum guarantee and additional charges

  • Your minimum-guarantee bill must be settled either during menu finalization or at least 3 days prior to your function—whichever comes first.

  • Any charges exceeding the minimum guarantee (for extra guests, services, etc.) are due immediately after the event.

  • Children are counted at full-rate headcount.

4. Documentation

  • A copy of your PAN card, government ID, and address proof must be submitted before your event.

  • All cheques should be made payable to Mumbai Maven.

5. Guarantee of attendance

  • Final guest count (“guarantee of attendance”) must be confirmed at least 48 hours prior to your function.

6. Guest responsibilities and liability

  • You must leave the venue in the same condition it was provided.

  • You are responsible for any damage to the gallery or its contents and must cover repair or replacement costs.

  • Management is not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings of you or your guests.

7. Food and beverage

  • All food and beverage served by 20 Downtown must be consumed on the premises.

8. Decor and entertainment

  • Only our in-house decorator may be used; outside decorators are not permitted.

  • You may use our in-house DJ free of charge. Outside DJs incur a royalty fee of ₹4,500.

  • Music must end by 11:30 pm.

  • No pin-ups, cut-outs, nails, tapes, candles, or helium balloons are allowed on walls, pillars, or elsewhere on the premises.

9. Promotional use

  • Management reserves the right to use photographs or videos from your event for promotional purposes.

10. Changes and pricing

  • Prices and terms are subject to change without prior notice at management’s discretion.

11. Force majeure
20 Downtown and Mumbai Maven are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, government orders, war, civil unrest, strikes, labour disputes, supply shortages, transportation issues, power failures, or other unforeseen circumstances.

12. Acceptance
By paying your advance deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions in full.
